The Orange County Conservation Corps is a nonprofit organization based in Southern California, helping youth and at-risk adults gain employment and an education. Through their mission, they’ve been able to help hundreds of individuals, all while improving lives and their community.

Having noticed our work with the LA Conservation Corps, Paul from the OCCC reached out to Adam Wright Design in need of a new website. Their old site was outdated, and in desperate need of a new, modern design.

Key elements for their new website

When executing a new website for a nonprofit like the OC Corps, we must first obtain the goals for the website. So we ask, what does it need to do? What information is most important for the visitor? What would you like to increase, or improve? Along with many other questions.

With these answers, we’re able to curate a design and layout to aim for success. One of the key elements we implemented are a simplified, yet attractive navigation design:

As you see, there’s only 3 tabs and a ‘Give Now’ button — this allows the visitor a pain-free process for finding what they need. The added icons we designed give an extra branded element to bring uniqueness to their site. It’s fun, inviting and also memorable.

The recycling center run by the OCCC is an important part of what they do. As a result, we designed a specific page to highlight the recycling rates, location and map for ease of finding it:

Lastly, an always important factor for every website is an informative Contact Us page that leads the visitor to easily find a way to reach out. Their Contact page features hours, individual locations, and a contact form for an easy inquiry:

Looking to the future

Beyond launch of the website, we are performing ongoing maintenance for their website as well as monitoring for optimal performance, security, up-time, and more.

We are so grateful to the OC Corps for coming to AWD! Their website has been a success, and the organization is very happy with their new site. Just read what Paul had to say about working with us on Google:
