We took a quick road trip to Charlotte, NC over the weekend — and no road trip is complete without a stop for breakfast, right?
We pulled into a classic: Cracker Barrel.
If you’ve never been, it’s a Southern-style restaurant with a country store up front, full of gifts, snacks, and old-timey charm. And like most road trip stops… you eventually need the restroom.
After we were seated, I headed into the store — straight to the back wall — and there it was, just like every other Cracker Barrel I’ve been to: the bathroom, right in the center.
I didn’t have to ask. I didn’t have to wander around awkwardly. I just knew where to go.
That consistency? It’s comforting. And that same kind of predictability is exactly what your website needs.
Don’t make visitors guess where to find your logo, your menu, or your contact info. Don’t tuck your phone number into a hidden corner just because it “looks cleaner.”
We’ve all used websites long enough to expect certain things in certain places — and when those expectations are met, people feel at ease.
And when they feel at ease, they stick around.
But when they’re not? You quickly lose a potential customer. And just like that, your decision to bury your phone number could cost you revenue.
As simple as it sounds, Cracker Barrel might just be winning at user experience — one consistent restroom placement at a time.
