First — a Happy New Year to you, and thank you for reading!
As 2023 came to a close, I excitedly anticipated the opportunity of a clean slate. I am that person that sets goals, tries to workout, and be better.
But I do so, because it helps drive me to do things every day towards those goals — almost gives me more purpose, in a way.
In analyzing my business, one of the biggest areas I want to improve on in 2024 is my website. Naturally, we all grow, learn and get smarter, faster, stronger — and after 2+ years since I last redesigned my site, I’ve outgrown it.
So I’ve decided that in this first quarter, I’m going to focus on completely rebuilding and redesigning my business’ website.
You might be thinking, okay — cool, so what?
My point here is you need to analyze your business from all angles and ask yourself:
- Am I fully being represented across all my marketing?
- Do I feel that my brand image and voice still resonates?
- Are my customers becoming bored of my business?
- Does my website represent who I am today?
If you’ve answered no to any of those questions, you should take a deeper look at your website, your brand, and your visual assets.
Like I mentioned — we all grow, and with that, our business needs to grow with us. If we are not evolving our business at the same pace as we are ourselves, then it’s only going to continue to be representing the past you — not the present.
And what we’re selling is who we are today — smarter, faster, stronger you.
So as I reviewed the current design of my website — I felt I am SO much better than what I’m portraying myself as.
I’ve grown, and this website is who I was 2 years ago.
So how do I change that? With a new design, of course!
Well, and probably some updated copy, too, but the design of your website can easily cause a potential customer to judge you based on what they see.
If you have a lack-luster web design, but you’re totally awesome — nobody will see that (assuming they don’t know you). They’ll just see you for what they see your brand as.
As you let your website design fade with time, it’s highly likely you have competitors who have stellar, new websites that are capturing your potential customers.
In your business, and career, you should always be improving your website and visuals to represent you to the fullest. Because a misrepresented website is just a huge waste.
So don’t underestimate the power of a newly redesigned website or branding — you may think it’s still working, but what you don’t know is a load of potential waiting to be discovered.
See you next time,
