If you’re a user of GenerateBlocks and looking for a quick and easy way to duplicate content block by block, this guide will show you how. Using a few simple methods, you can quickly copy and paste content across different sections of your site, making the design process faster and more efficient.

Step 1: Selecting the Content to Duplicate

Let’s say you’re working on your homepage and want to duplicate a specific section onto another page, like your About page. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open the Page: Navigate to the page where you want to duplicate content, and click “Edit” to access the WordPress editor.
  2. Select the Container: Identify the outermost container of the section you want to duplicate. Click on it to select the entire block.
  3. Copy the Block: You can copy the block in one of two ways:
    • Press Command + C (or Ctrl + C on Windows) to copy the selected block.
    • Click on the three dots (options menu) and select “Copy.”

Step 2: Pasting the Content

Once you’ve copied the block, it’s time to paste it into the desired location.

  1. Navigate to the New Page: Go to the page where you want to paste the copied content, such as the About page.
  2. Paste the Block: Click where you want to insert the content and press Command + V (or Ctrl + V on Windows) to paste it. The copied block will appear in the new location, ready for you to customize.

Step 3: Duplicating Specific Elements

If you only want to duplicate certain elements, like a title and body copy, you can easily do that as well.

  1. Select Multiple Blocks: Click and drag to highlight the blocks you want to duplicate. You’ll notice that both blocks will be highlighted in blue in the list view on the sidebar.
  2. Copy and Paste: Click on the three dots (options menu) and select “Copy Blocks.” Then, navigate to where you want to duplicate the content and paste it in.

Step 4: Using Keyboard Shortcuts

For even faster duplication, you can use the Command + Shift + D shortcut (or Ctrl + Shift + D on Windows).

  1. Select a Block: Highlight the block you want to duplicate.
  2. Duplicate with Shortcut: Press Command + Shift + D to instantly duplicate the block in the same section. This method is perfect for quickly creating multiple copies of a block without needing to copy and paste.

Final Tips

  • Duplicating Multiple Blocks: You can also duplicate multiple blocks at once by highlighting them and pressing Command + Shift + D or using the options menu to duplicate them all together.
  • Speed Up Your Workflow: Once you get the hang of these shortcuts, you’ll find that duplicating content with GenerateBlocks becomes a seamless part of your design process, allowing you to work more efficiently.

These methods for duplicating content in GenerateBlocks will help you streamline your design and development process within WordPress. Experiment with them, and you’ll see how they can save you time and effort on your projects.
