How long does it actually take to build a website?
Most websites take 6-8 weeks from start to finish, but it depends on the scope. We like to work at a pace that gets it done right without dragging things out. Plus, we’ll keep you looped in, so you’re never in the dark.
Do you only work with WordPress, or can you do other platforms too?
We’re big WordPress fans because it’s powerful, flexible, and user-friendly. Instead of spreading ourselves thin across multiple platforms, we’ve chosen to specialize and become WordPress pros. That means every site we build is backed by expertise, efficiency, and the confidence that we’re giving you the best possible solution.
Can you add all the fancy features I want?
Bring on the fancy features! Well, if they make sense for your site. Whether it’s custom forms, booking options, or interactive elements, we focus on what you need to achieve your goals, not just what sounds cool. We’ll collaborate to make sure every feature serves a purpose, and if that super-specific thing is worth it, we’ll build it.
Do you handle hosting and domain stuff too, or is that on me?
We highly recommend getting your website hosted with us for the best performance, predictability, and reliability. But if you want to go with another option, we’ll be happy to give you a list of some great alternatives. It’s totally up to you! Either way, we’ll make sure your site is locked and loaded.
Will my website rank on Google if AWD builds it?
We’ll build you a site that’s SEO-ready with fast load times, clean code, and the right structure. It’s like giving you a shiny new car with all the basics—but driving it (aka ongoing SEO like keyword optimization, content updates, and link building) is a separate thing. We’ll set you up for success, but winning a spot on page one of Google takes continuous SEO work. While we don’t offer this directly, we can definitely recommend some SEO buddies of ours!
Will my site be accessible to everyone?
We build in accessibility basics—like readable fonts, color contrast, clear navigation, and alt text—so your site works well for most users. Full compliance with accessibility standards? That’s a bigger project requiring audits and extra steps. We’re happy to guide you through the essentials and point you in the right direction if you want to go further.
How do I make updates after the site’s live?
Once your site’s live, you’ll receive our Website Owner’s Manual which gives you the keys to everything you need. If you’re tech-savvy and want to handle the basics, you totally can. But if messing with website updates isn’t your thing or you’re not comfortable with tech, no worries—our website support plan has you covered.
What if something breaks?
If you’re on our website support plan, we’re on it before you even notice. From regular updates to backups, we’ve got a system to keep things running smoothly and fix issues fast if they pop up.
